Hawick has a proud history of cashmere and wool and the craft remains active today. Guests can take a tour at Johnstons of Elgin Mill, and also at Lochcarron of Scotland tartan visitor centre in nearby Selkirk. For whisky lovers, The Borders Distillery is based in Hawick. Introducing Laura and David
We've made our home at Priestrig Croft with our dogs, cats and a growing team of farm animals. It’s a return to the Borders for David as he was born to a farming family in the Northumbrian hills.
Our life has been varied before moving to the Borders, ranging from David working on the Formula One racing circuit and also in farming in both the UK and on the continent, and Laura working in retail and also for a local Hospice charity on the South Coast.
Having spent many years living in Poland, Italy, Scandinavia and the South of the UK, we are happy to have now made our home on the Croft, where we try to lead a sustainable life in this beautiful location.
We enjoy sharing Fiddle Hill Cottage and welcoming our guests, and are available should you need us during your stay. We also understand that many guests wish for privacy and to get away from it all to relax and enjoy their alone time in this most beautiful place.
You are very welcome to Fiddle Hill Cottage.
